Web
projects ideas
You
have a web site but you're not sure what to do with it. You have
some static pages that tell a little about the business. Some photos
of the employees or store locations or a map on how to get there.
The problem is there is no good reason for a Internet customer to
come back to your site. But why do you care if they come back to
your site? Once they know where your business is, they will just
come there, right? Wrong!
A
good businessperson knows you need to continue to market to your
current customers, all the time, for their valuable repeat business!
Your web site is the perfect tool to cater to these valuable customers.
Here are some suggestions on how to bring those customers back to
your site.
- Listing
time sensitive sales on products and services, changing this on
a REGULAR basis.
-
Printable coupons (that are different than those offered in mailings,
newspapers, etc) for products and services that are time sensitive,
changed on a REGULAR basis.
-
A calendar with listings for events and or sales involving your
business that is consistently kept up to date. (Example at www.yourhendrickscounty.com
under the Events section)
-
If you put out a newsletter or flyer on a regular basis, this
can easily be posted on your site as they are released to keep
the site up to date with business news and allow new visitors
to browse back to see past events and news.
-
Provide an interactive area such as a comment posting area, a
bulletin board, or the latest web trend, a blog. (Example at www.lphc.org
under the Political Forum).
A
couple of notes on these ideas:
-
It is important to update items on a REGULAR
basis as nothing turns off repeat visitors more then a static
site with outdated items listed.
-
The interactive areas require the use of scripting applications.
We currently use free cgi or java scripts offered by various programmers
in return for endorsements of their services. Although we do not
write scripts, almost anything you would like to add to your site
can be purchased for very reasonable prices (or even for free
with endorsements). If you have any ideas you would like
to pursue for adding interactivity to your site, send us a note
and we will research and give you free estimates on what these
costs would be.
These
are just some examples of how to keep your site fresh, and encourage
repeat visits by your loyal customers. Contact us for more details
on these items and any other ideas you can think of. We will give
you estimates on what your costs might be to setup and maintain
to keep your site fresh and encourage your repeat customers.
